Starting my own studio

I was wondering what would be involved in setting up a studio of my own, and hiring staff and crew within your team?

I'm keen on scriptwriting and post production side, but the actual filming side, not so much.

If you are planning to shoot wet movies, I have a suggestion...
Try Step-sis or step-mom wet movies, there are no wet movies in that category anywhere.
Nice script(with good build up and teasing) makes it hotter...

From personal experience:

Your three biggest hurdles are going to be getting capital to start up, developing connections in the industry to find models, and (biggest of all) learning how to shoot, because it’s not as easy as it looks and you’re not as good at it as you think you might be. Trust me.

Capital not a problem, just sold my house so I am sitting on enough to get started.

Developing connections is what I'm here to do.

Shooting wise,I have been in film school for ten years, that won't be a problem.

I had hoped to make comedies for television but the commissioning process makes it impossible for me to do that, in the current market, and I need to start generating revenue as I have spent quite a lot of money on education and equipment.

So I need a talent booker, based in Czech Republic.

Pretty much anyone who's been on this site would be eligible to be in my upcoming sexy movies.

Find models using their [spam] account, you could recruit a few that way... To find new models, find some local guys to recruit local hookers, you can do that through [spam], talk to some random guys and offer them 500 for each models they find. Some of the might agree, money speaks... (If you want russian models, find some local russian guys through [spam] and offer them money, don't pay any advances)

I heard you sold your House to shoot porn movies, hope you have another one to live... It's risky, you should be careful, observe the best selling movies in LP/Aalvids, and learn what's selling, why it's selling, what's not selling and why it's not selling. You should choose your models wisely, most of them are cheaters, they care only about the money, they don't care about you, your studio's success or their career...

Can you provide more information about what you’re looking to shoot specifically? You’re on the PornBox forums, so I assume either AnalVids or DDF style? Please be specific.

To be honest, just based on what you’ve said here, it really sounds like you’d be a better fit for a specialized post-production role as opposed to running your own studio. That may not be the case, though, so if you can tell us more about what you’ve got in mind, we can give you better advice. Do you have a specific vision for what you want to shoot?

Sometimes you have to fly before you can walk...
It's not rocket science (rocket science is not that hard in my opinion), you can do it if you have imagination..
If you are recruiting, recruit one educated female pornstar as your manager... She will do the job for you, you can learn from her, she will manage the set, will talk to the girls and you can use her connections...

Sure, that’s certainly true. I just want to know more about this guy’s motivations. Why does he want to get into the industry? If it’s primarily a money-driven idea, then my advice to him will be different than if it’s a passion-driven idea. Also, the type of content he wants to shoot matters as far as which distribution platform would drive sales most effectively.
