IT jobs in Budapest?

Postby melovehotties » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:00 pm

What is the job market for foreign IT professionals who only speak English? If you are one or know someone like that, how long have you been in Hungary with VISA?

Hungary is poor as fuck, and the jobs pay accordingly. You'd be better off targeting somewhere in Germany because they pay well, and Germany has cheap flights all over Europe for as little as $10. I've actually worked there for six months in a hostel, and it's a nice city. However, Hungarians don't really like foreigners for the most part. Their language is also impossible to learn. You also can't get everything you want at the grocery store very easily, and the beer is terrible. It is super cheap though. Dinner at a restaurant is like $4.

I was also thinking of living in Vienna due to its proximity to Budapest, what is the job market like for IT in Austria? Too bad that cost of living is similar to North America in Vienna.

Personally, I prefer Hungarian honestly over fake Western smile.

Basis is completely new for majority, but reading is much easier to learn than in English, French, Portuguese...

Few more:
- Hungarian girls are pretty attractive
- Budapest is really nice place
- Hungary cultural herritage is very rich
- interesting food
- I'm not Hungarian ;)

If you plan moving just to work in IT - don't. You can get decent job online. For top jobs you'll got to have better knowledge about market, but changing country just to check this is overkill.

Speaking about Ljubljana - everything is pretty much the same for Westerner as in Budapest.

Differences:
- together with Austria, Swiss and Belarus, Slovenia is the cleanest European country
- writen language is even easier to learn
- speak-language is easy to learn if you know any Slavic language
- Ljubljana is much smaller than Budapest and some less attractive
- Slovenia have beautiful nature (Hungary is too flat for me)
- I'm not Slovenian either ;)

This is the most stupidest thing I've ever read.Beszélsz magyarul?I'd really like to hear you pronounce these:
Gazdaságtudományi, hozzászólásban, külügyminisztériumra, megtanulhatatlanul, gyönyörűséges, jellegzetességkivonatoló.
It's a narrow policy to suppose that this man or that is to be marked out as the eternal ally or the perpetual enemy of mine.I've no eternal allies and I've no perpetual enemies. My interests are eternal, perpetual and those interests are all that matter.

Hungarian alphabet have REAL rules, and every person with IQ over 60 will learn it in day or two. No possible jamming in pronounce as in English. Sure, reading is not the same as appropiate speaking, but I mentioned just reading.

Hangerian alfabet hev RIL rulsz, end evri perszon vit IQ over 60 vil lrn it in dej or tu. No poszibl dzseming in pronaunsz asz in Inglis. Sr, riding iz not d szejm asz riding, bat aj mensnd dzsaszt riding. (I do not have Hungarian keyboard, so no diacritics, but this should be close enough.)

maxxxno1 wrote:the most stupidest
You can't say this in English. ;) Are you sure that you understood that part of post?

maxxxno1 wrote:Beszélsz magyarul?
Nem, just jo napot, szervusz, hallo, hogy vagy, szia... Pronouncing can be tricky because of unusual groupings of sounds, but except that reading is strict and easy.

Easy, more or less. I'm better with Slovenian, where that would be pronounced as gazdašagtudomanji, hozasolašban, kuludjministeriumra, megtanulhatatlanul, djonjorušegeš and jelegzetešegkivonatolo.

Why do you ask this in a porn forum?

Where are you from? I only know that you probably wont earn really good money in Budapest.

If you think the girls will go crazy for you because you have a bit more money, then you are wrong ;)

So, what you're saying is, you have useless knowledge. You can read in Hungarian without understanding anything. That's the same thing if you have a limp dick, you have it, but it's useless.

VBT_2 wrote:You can't say this in English. ;) Are you sure that you understood that part of post?.

Actually, I can(when I'm multitasking).Yes, what you wrote is the most stupid or the stupidest thing I've ever read. But, let me tell you something, before trying to be a smartass learn to spell.Appropiate, eh?I don't think so.It's appropriate.

VBT_2 wrote:Nem, just jo napot, szervusz, hallo, hogy vagy, szia... Pronouncing can be tricky because of unusual groupings of sounds, but except that reading is strict and easy.

It's actually Jó(not jo) napot kívánok.Only uneducated persons say jó napot. To sum up, you can read in Hungarian and you know several words which you probably pronounce poorly. You'd do so well in Budapest.

kuludjministeriumra, u and ü are pronounced differently in Hungarian, djonjorušegeš, o and ö as well. You'd probably pronounce á and a in the same way, which is of course incorrect. In conclusion, you suck at Hungarian.

Poor as fuck?In comparison to which countries?America or rich Western Europe countries?Yes.But, there are so many countries that are more poor than Hungary.

jesuscakes wrote:Their language is also impossible to learn.

For those who have zero talent for learning foreign languages that's true.I'm sure you'd say the same for Serbian, Albanian, Macedonian or Greek.Yes, Hungarian is one of the most difficult European languages to learn. But, it's not impossible.

jesuscakes wrote:You also can't get everything you want at the grocery store very easily, and the beer is terrible.

Absolutely, not true. You only need to know where too look.Beer is fine, especially Borsodi. There are also many good Hungarian kézműves sörök(craft beers).

jesuscakes wrote:It is super cheap though. Dinner at a restaurant is like $4.

That depends at which restaurant. It can be 4 Euros, but it can be 16 Euros, but yes there are good restaurants with good food for favorable prices.

Maxxxno, you didn't read carefully.

Anyway, I already wrote that HUNGARIAN ORTHOGRAPHY HAVE STRICT RULES so READING IS MUCH EASIER TO LEARN THAN IN ENGLISH, and this could contribute to make learning of language easier (with your words: having limp dick is better than absence of any dick); also, I said that I DON'T SPEAK HUNGARIAN, and, sure, I DON'T USE HUNGARIAN KEYBOARD (so no diacritics).

As a foreigner you can find work at outsourcing companies and outsourced offices (epam, cognizant, nokia, siemens, bosch) with a local IT salary.
The salary depends on your skills. From a few years of experience to the manager/senior level it looks like this (monthly bases):
before tax:600.000-1.200.000 HUF (1800-3600 EUR)
after tax: 400.000-800.000 HUF (1250-2500 EUR)

Usually they pay cafeteria as well around 40.000 HUF/month.
The average flat price is around 100.000 (300 EUR) and you don't really need other transportation than public transportation.
Nightlife can be awesome if you know the place but I would suggest to work at more multicultural environment where they would accept you more.

what about entry level?
